Actros Truck
Arrive safely – with the support of innovative assistance systems.
This optionally available system can assist the driver during cornering or lane changing by detecting moving and stationary objects in the warning zone on the right or in the tracking pattern in certain situations7,8 and providing visual and audible warnings for the driver.
If the vehicle approaches a detected vehicle driving in front, the cruise control automatically restricts the speed and maintains the pre-set distance within the system limits. If vehicles appear in front suddenly, the system can intervene with predefined decelerations. Stop-and-go-function automatically controls driving off and braking in traffic jams. Up to a speed of 50 kilometres an hour the Proximity Control Assist can detect stationary vehicles and react to stationary vehicles in front of a traffic light, for example. If necessary, the driver's own vehicle can be brought to a stop.
The width and the considerable 2.13 m floor-to-ceiling height between the seats make it the largest and most comfortable Actros cab around and optimally suited for the space requirements of a two-person team. The generous interior and stowage space affords both driver and co-driver lots of freedom of movement and numerous stowage possibilities. This allows for restful relaxation periods and orderliness in the cab. The new colour scheme of the interior design also promotes well-being and clearly separates the working and living areas from one another.
The new assistance system aids the driver in recognising certain traffic signs in real-time, displays up to two of them in the instrument cluster simultaneously and thus makes for greater safety and driving comfort. What's more, it warns the driver both visually and audibly – for example in the case of exceeding speed limits.
Besides speed limits, overtaking restrictions and their lifting, Traffic Sign Assist also detects warning signs and restricted access signs applicable to trucks.
The new assistance system recognises certain traffic signs in real time and displays the two most important signs in the instrument cluster for enhanced safety and driving comfort. It also provides the driver with visual and audible warnings – when entering a one-way street in the wrong direction, for example.
The new driving assistance system improves driving comfort and relieves the driver, improves driving safety and reduces the risk of rear-end collisions. It does so by innovatively combining the functions of separate systems, making it possible to use partially automated driving even today.
Active Drive Assist advances Proximity Control Assist with stop-and-go function by adding autonomous braking and acceleration, allowing it to maintain the set distance to the vehicle ahead. Besides using Predictive Powertrain Control and Predictive Powertrain Control interurban, the system also utilises the Active Brake Assist 5 advanced radar and camera technology and Proximity Control Assist. Lane Keeping Assist and the electrically assisted Servotwin steering handle active lateral guidance of the truck.
The fifth generation of the system assists the driver in that, under ideal conditions and within the system's capabilities, it can perform emergency braking when approaching stationary and moving objects, and perform partial or full braking for moving pedestrians, thus mitigating or even preventing accidents entirely.
The system increases driving safety by stabilising and preventively braking the vehicle and trailer/semitrailer in possibly critical driving situations.
The Assist actively stabilises the truck by braking the trailer/semitrailer when the accelerator pedal is released on bends at speeds up to 60 km/h. The action of engine brake is then also taken into account.
The new electronic parking brake with hold function combines easier handling and greater safety.
It is automatically activated when the engine is turned off – but can also be turned on and off by operating the lever in the cockpit. The integrated hold function is activated when the vehicle is stationary – at a red light, for example – simply by pressing down hard on the brake pedal. The function is released once the accelerator pedal is operated again.
The camera pre-installation available ex-works allows quick and simple installation of up to four analogue and one digital camera in the multi-touch display on the vehicle and/or trailer. Images are shown either separately in the fully digital instrument cluster or in a variety of split-screen views on the multi-touch display. For improved safety – for example during manoeuvring.
The new LED daytime running lamps with integrated indicator enhance vehicle recognition during the day, thus contributing to greater safety. It is automatically dimmed when dipped-beam headlamps are switched on.
The design creates a unique look and the unit's extended service life also reduces service and repair costs.
The new LED tail lamps set clear standards. Especially the turn signals, whereby the light signal starts on the inside and moves in an outward direction.
The robustness and long service life of the LEDs help ensure greater safety as well as lower maintenance and repair costs.Besides turn signal lamps, brake lamps and tail lamps, this equipment also features rear position lights and licence plate lamps, rear foglamp, as well as perimeter/side-marker lamps.

The new TrendLine can lend a warm and extremely homelike atmosphere to the cab through trim pieces with a wood look. The distinctive trim strip with TrendLine lettering on the instrument panel is complemented by further wood trim on the hand brake lever, the platform and next to the steering wheel. Also included: velour carpet inserts and lower cover of the MirrorCam with TrendLine logo and painted in the vehicle colour.
